Each branch (committee) and directly affiliated department will report their work together, summarize the work in 2024, introduce the work plan and ideas for 2025, and share and exchange the highlights of the past year's work, as well as the experiences and insights gained in the work. Lei Changchun presented a report titled "Summary of the Work of China Rubber Industry Association in 2024 and Work Arrangements for 2025".

According to the statistical data of 393 key member enterprises in 11 branches of the China Rubber Industry Association, from January to November 2024, the total industrial output value of the rubber industry at current prices increased by 8.23% year-on-year; Sales revenue increased by 5.89%; Export delivery value increased by 11.57%; Profit and tax increased by 10.63%; Profit increased by 9.93%; The sales revenue profit margin was 6.13%, an increase of 0.20 percentage points; There were 43 loss making companies, an increase of 2.38% (loss making companies accounted for 10.95%); The loss amount of loss making enterprises decreased by 34.61%; Finished product inventory increased by 13.19%.
Xu Wenying stated that despite the complex and ever-changing economic situation, the rubber industry has still achieved good development results, with exports achieving even better results; Rubber companies increase capital in overseas projects to accelerate internationalization; Accelerate the transformation and upgrading of industry products by formulating domestic and international standards; New progress has been made in addressing trade frictions and technological barriers; The rubber industry has achieved remarkable results in technological innovation.
In 2024, the China Rubber Association mainly carried out four aspects of work.
In leading the high-quality development of the industry, we call on the industry to enhance confidence, forge ahead, innovate and lead, and create new achievements; Taking the "dual carbon" goal as the starting point, promote the green and low-carbon transformation and development of the industry; Promote the construction of high-quality standards and promote the high-quality development of the industry; Promote the brand strategy of rubber products, improve product quality and market competitiveness; Promote and publicize new materials, technologies, equipment, and processes.
In the service industry, organize industry enterprises to respond to trade friction investigation cases; Organize comprehensive meetings and build industry exchange platforms; Conduct research on the needs of member companies, provide consulting and information services; Provide information services such as statistics, publications, websites, etc; Provide training services; Provide specialized consulting reports; Develop multiple national and industry group standards; Call for solutions to key and difficult issues in the industry.
In terms of building a communication bridge between the government and enterprises, we call for adjustments to import and export tariff items and rates; Undertake government department tasks and strengthen communication with relevant ministries and commissions; Interpret national policies to stabilize the economy and help implement policy dividends in industries and enterprises.
In terms of internal construction of the association, the replacement of the chairman of the branch (committee) whose term of office has expired; Convene meetings of directors, executive directors, presidium, branch (committee) directors, and secretary-general; Maintain existing members, reduce the burden on member enterprises, and develop new members; Promote the progress of association informatization work; Promote party building and other related work.
Xu Wenying pointed out that in 2024, while achieving results, there are still some problems in the development of the rubber industry, such as severe internal competition, high costs of environmental protection and labor, difficulties in basic research and technological innovation, and low concentration and brand recognition in some areas of the industry.
In 2025, the China Rubber Industry Association will focus on the following areas:
1. Call on the entire industry to change its development concept, that is, to shift from simple investment, expansion of production and scale, to emphasizing both addition and subtraction, and strengthening, focusing on structural adjustment and mergers and acquisitions, and enhancing core competitiveness.
2. Organize responses to key and difficult issues in the industry, including closely monitoring the response to California 6PPD, continuing to pay attention to the EU Zero Deforestation Act and European tire debris regulations, addressing the impact of disposable medical gloves in Southeast Asia on the latex industry, promoting the high-quality development of the rubber recycling industry, continuing to call for the cancellation of import tariffs on natural rubber and latex, organizing the entire industry to actively carry out odor treatment in the rubber industry, paying attention to the revision of the "Rubber Products Industry Pollutant Emission Standards", and monitoring the implementation of national mandatory standards such as tires and carbon black.
3. Develop evaluation indicators and systems for the high-quality development of the industry.
4. Timely promote and report information on the rubber industry.
5. Provide high-quality industry consulting reports.
6. Organize diverse and colorful training to help improve the overall quality of industry practitioners.
7. Improve communication modes and build better communication platforms.
8. Summarize the 14th Five Year Plan and prepare the 15th Five Year Plan.
9. Do a good job in the association's party building work.
10. Carry out the work of association and party branch elections.
11. Increase the strength and influence of industry expert groups, make full use of their power, and help the industry solve practical problems.
12. Increase the promotion and learning of new materials, technologies, equipment and other products in the industry, and organize cross-border learning and cooperation.
13. Promote brand strategy in the rubber industry.
14. Strengthen communication and cooperation with overseas associations to promote the positive energy of China's rubber industry.
Xu Wenying stated that in 2025, the rubber industry needs to guard against risks including global economic uncertainty, export market uncertainty brought about by the Trump administration, intensified market competition, and new trade barriers and cost increases brought about by ESG and "dual carbon" concepts. However, the Chinese government's fiscal and monetary policies, as well as the recovery of domestic demand, have brought enormous development opportunities to the industry.
Xu Wenying encouraged the staff of the association to practice the "rubber character" of hard work, perseverance, simplicity, willingness to contribute, concerted efforts, and courage to bear heavy loads by 2025. They should have light in their eyes and love in their hearts, exercise their ability to discover problems, and provide more "in place" services for the development of the rubber industry with professional ethics and moral cultivation as support.
